Queen Latifah's fans may soon smell like royalty, as the rapper/actress plans to launch her very own fragrance next year.

According to the Miami Herald, Parlux Fragrances-a Fort Lauderdale-based perfume and beauty products maker which also has deals with Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson among others -announced yesterday that it signed a global licensing agreement to put out a perfume for Latifah.

"For me, beauty really does start on the inside," Queen Latifah told the South Florida Business Journal. "It's like a state of mind -- a state of love, if you will. So, I see fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: Scent expresses a woman's confidence and sensuality. It's how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength."

A new trend among artists-Beyonce, Usher, and Mariah Carey all have their own scents-venturing into the aroma arena is a first for the Queen.

The fragrance will debut in fall 2009 in the United States with an international rollout to follow.

Still a Hollywood powerhouse, Latifah recently starred alongside Diane Keaton and Katie Holmes in the buddy comedy Mad Money, and had a surprise appearance in last month's Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz release, What Happens In Vegas. The Queen also has a role in the upcoming flick, The Secret Life of Bees, with Alicia Keys.

Bees hits theaters in October.
