It's official, G-Unit and The Game will not be competing for sales with same-day releases. Their upcoming albums, both previously scheduled to drop on June 24, have been pushed back to separate dates in July.has confirmed with Interscope and Geffen Records that the original June 24th release date placed on the Game's Los Angeles Times and G-Unit's T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight) have both been moved to the following month. Game told, "I will drop my album on July 8 in order to clean up the mess 50 made with his new release on July 1st." As previously reported, 50 Cent said he planned to use his influence at Interscope to move Game's album to a different date than that of his own. "He's going to get pushed back," 50 told. "The sh*t I heard so far is just trash from the Game's perspective." To date, G-Unit's 2004 "Beg For Mercy" pushed 2.7 million units in the US while the Game's 2006 album "Doctor's Advocate" has sold 969,000 copies, both according to the Nielsen SoundScan. T.O.S. is slated for a July 1st release while Los Angeles Times is due out July 8th. |
