T.I. was unable to host Thanksgiving at his home in Atlanta, but he will be allowed to leave the premises to celebrate Easter. As previously reported, T.I. withdrew a court request in November to host Thanksgiving at his home after it was met with strong opposition from prosecutors. The rapper, born Clifford Harris, is on house arrest awaiting trial for a federal weapons case. On Thursday (March 20th) a federal judge ruled that T.I. is allowed to be away from home 8:30 AM to 2 PM on Sunday in order to attend a service sponsored by New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. According to the Associated Pres, T.I. must be accompanied during his church visit by one of his attorneys as well as a court-appointed monitor. The church service was originally scheduled to be held in the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta, however due to tornado damage at the dome it may now be held at the church's location in Lithonia. T.I. was arrested in October 2007 in an Atlanta shopping center by federal authorities after allegedly attempting to buy three machine guns and two silencers. |
