According to a recent survey, those polled predict Illinois Senator Barack Obama will become America's next president, which will make him the first black man to ascend to the Oval office.

Aside from forecasting Obama's inauguration, about 70 percent of those polled say they are more likely to vote for Obama than his Democratic competitor Hillary Clinton (about 14%), with whom he is embroiled in a nail-biting race to become the Democratic nominee.

Ron Paul, The charismatic anti-war and anti-big government candidate running for the Republican nominee, came in fourth just behind "undecided" with 4 percent of respondents saying they are looking to vote for him. [See results, here]

Obama's performance in virtually all-white Iowa, where he won the state's Democratic primaries, has given many of his followers hope that a black man could be competitive in a national election.

But all black people have not gulped the Obama Kool-Aid. While Rhymefest, a Chi-Town rapper, has come out in favor of Obama, as previously reported, Chicago-native Lupe Fiasco bypassed the Senator from Illinois and put his support behind Obama's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

The battle for the black vote doesn't stop at Chi-Town rappers. BET billionaire Bob Johnson took on Barack while in South Carolina campaigning for Senator Clinton. He later apologized for making allusions to Obama's admitted drug use as a teen.

Much of the campaign conversation on the Democratic side has to do with a possible first woman or first black man in the White House. Many pundants have questioned the willingness of voters to elect either. According to the poll, 88 percent say race and gender is no issue with only about 6 percent each saying they would not vote for a woman or black man.

On the Republican side, 42 percent say John McCain has the best chance to be the GOP nominee, with Mike Huckabee trailing with 23 percent.
