Tyga released his debut album, No Introduction, on Lil' Wayne's Young Money Entertainment today, the same day as Weezy's highly anticipated, Tha Carter III. caught up with the young emcee to see how he feels about going head to head with his boss and the haters on the net.
To celebrate his album release Tyga made his very first appearance on MTV's show, "TRL" with Wayne.
"I'm feeling real good," he said. "It's my first time on 'TRL' and [who] better to be here with then the man himself, Wayne. This is a big day for me, man. It feel like the first day of school."
Though Tyga's album was released on the same day as his mentor's, the Compton born rapper does not view Weezy as competition. In fact, he thinks the dual release date is a good idea.
"That's not head to head," he said. "It's smart being that his album come out today. My album come out. [The] N.E.R.D. album come out. Plies album come out. These is major artists. I'm a independent dude. I'm young and I just came in the game. I think it's a big accomplishment on my side."
Tyga declined to comment on the internet rumors that he had his chains stolen by G-Unit affiliates 40 Glocc and Village Boo, but he did say that he welcomes the virtual hate.
"I love it," he said. "It's making me go harder. What did Mr. West say? He said, 'I'm excited when somebody don't like me, it keep me writing, so exciting.' That's real man. It makes your heart bigger. They don't understand I'm a little dude and you're bringing out the fire out of me. I love the hate man, it's good."
No Introduction is in stores now.
