Lil' Wayne's lawyers are fighting to get drug charges filed against the rapper in Arizona reduced from intent to sell to a lesser possession charge.

According to the Associated Press, in a motion filed in Yuma County Superior Court on Friday (Mar. 7), Wayne's defense attorney, James Tilson, pointed out that the rapper was originally accused of being found with 29 grams of cocaine. But Tilson said lab reports show his client had less than eight grams not including the weight of packaging.

In Arizona, nine grams or more automatically means intent to sell. If Tilson's claims are true, Wayne's charges could be drastically reduced and he could get off with probation rather than jail time.

Wayne (born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was indicted last month on one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He maintains his innocence.

In addition to the cocaine in question, Drug Enforcement Administration agents also found nearly four ounces of marijuana and 41 grams of Ecstasy.

Bun B recently talked to about Weezy's highly publicized troubles with drugs, in light of Pimp C's passing. Pimp was Bun's partner in rhyme in the seminal Southern hip-hop group, UGK.

Pimp C died late last year as a result of sleep apnea and an accidental codeine overdose - the main ingredient of popular illegal substance "Sizzurp" often mentioned in rap songs.

"There's a lot people that have vices in this world," Bun said. "Wayne just happens to have that syrup cup, the Styrofoam cup that you can see all the time. But everybody has that proverbial white Styrofoam cup and if we all had to walk around with our flaws in our hands day to day then we'd probably be getting looked at crazy too." [Watch Below]

Wayne will be back in court for his Arizona charge May 13. A hearing is scheduled on the motion to remand the case back to the grand jury.
