Hip-Hop mogul and renaissance man Diddy is set to add yet another title to his ever growing resume, as he's set to executive produce BET's annual "Rip The Runway" fashion show.
Co-hosted by platinum-selling emcee Nelly along with actress Lauren London, the event will be held at the ManhattanCenter in New York City. Not premiering on BET until March, the fashion festivities will actually be taped on February 21 and will feature musical performances by several artists including Snoop Dogg.
The show will be directed by video/film director Chris Robinson and will feature fashions from some of hip-hop's most popular brands including Apple Bottom, BBC and of course Diddy's Sean John line.
"Music and fashion relate because both art forms are extremely passionate," Diddy said in an interview with I Got Shotgun during New York City's fashion week. "They're about evolving, being forward and having a certain level of creativity. Music and fashion go together. You can't have one without the other in all honesty. You can't have a great recording artist without having some great clothes and you can't have some great clothes without some great music to go behind it." [Watch Here]
And while Diddy has been noted as having gained inspiration from a variety of places for his various creative and business ventures, the Bad Boy admitted that it was his love for the Showtime series "The Tudors" that inspired the vision for his latest line.
"To be honest, this was inspired by 'The Tudors,' but I went and I pimped it," he explained. "I'm a big 'Tudors' fan and I went and flipped it and made it about a king from the kingdom of Harlem."
BET's Rip The Runway premiers on March 4 at 9 p.m. EST.
