Mos Def will be appearing in New York for a special interview later this month for an audience of his hometown fans. The triple threat rapper, actor and political personality is set to share insight on his career.

Mos Def will sit down with music journalist, Anthony DeCurtis at Manhattan's 92nd Street Y on February 28 at 8 p.m. to discuss his career as a rapper and actor in addition to his social/political opinions and his vision of what role artists should play in the real world.

While the Brooklyn rapper is known in the hip-hop world as both a solo artist and for his collaborations with Talib Kweli in the duo Black Star, he has also proven himself as a force to be reckoned with as an actor, earning numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and NAACP Image Award nods. Mos has enjoyed notable roles in such films as Something the Lord Made, The Italian Job and 16 Blocks, among others and is set to star alongside Jack Black in the upcoming film Be Kind Rewind.

No stranger to controversy, Mos Def has spoken openly in response to issues affecting the Black community such as Hurricane Katrina and the Jena Six case.

Fans can order tickets on 92y,org or by calling (212)415-5500.
