After almost 3 years of staying out of the limelight, Grammy award winning rapper Missy Elliott is planning to release a new album this year and she wants to get into the studio with longtime producer Timbaland for the project.

Aside from an appearance on Keyshia Cole's summer hit, "Let It Go" and an endorsement from Doritos, the music world hasn't heard much from Missy since her last album, The Cookbook, in 2005.

But according to Reuters/Billboard, the "Supa Dupa Fly" rapper is back in the lab. She's already released two new songs "Ching-A-Ling" and "Shake Your Pom Pom," for the Step Up 2 the Streets soundtrack (available Feb. 5).

Though Timbaland didn't play a major role in The Cookbook's production, Missy plans to reunite with the mega-producer on the new disc. Timbo is credited as being a producer on Missy's first 5 albums (Supa Dupa Fly, Da Real World, Miss E...So Addictive, Under Construction, This Is Not A Test) - all of which have gone platinum.
