Michael Jackson may be able to avoid traveling overseas to testify in a London court for a $7 million lawsuit thast was recently filed against him.
As previously reported the "King of Pop" is being charged by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain with accepting various cash arrangements to produce an album and book that he never delivered. While not offering any specific details, Jackson's attorney Robert Englehart claims a request to testify via a video link is being considered.
"It would be unwise for him to travel, given what he's got now," Englehart told the Associated Press "[It's] for the obvious reasons."
Khalifa's lawyer Bankim Thanki is not satisfied with the request.
"It's not the first time a sick note has been presented by Mr. Jackson" Thanki told the AP.
Judge Nigel Sweeney will wait until Thursday (November 20) to decide upon Jackson's travel request after medical experts from both sides give their arguments.
