Comedian Katt Williams just made it to his sold out show at New York City's Carnegie Hall yesterday (November 6) night after he was arrested earlier in the day and briefly imprisoned on gun charges.

According to New York's Daily News, Williams and ten members of his crew were taken in on weapons charges Thursday morning after police noticed three visible guns in his Cadillac Escalade, which was missing a license plate, in lower Manhattan.

Upon exiting a building, the stand-up comic told authorities the vehicle was his which led to police arresting him plus his surrounding entourage.

Originally scheduled to perform that evening at Carnegie Hall, Williams spent 18 hours behind bars before being released on a $25,000 bond around the same time he was supposed to begin his stand up show.

Nearly an hour later, the comedian rushed to the stage apologizing to fans.

"I'm not moving at my usual pace," he reportedly told the packed crowd. "I just got out of jail 35 minutes ago."

Ironically, Williams was arrested in November 2006 at Los Angeles International Airport after a stolen gun was discovered in his briefcase days before he was also booked to host the BET Hip Hop Awards. The comedian narrowly made it out in time to MC the show.

In related news, the hip-hop comedian will be releasing a new DVD, It's Pimpin' Pimpin' next week.

The 77-minute disc is set to follow the same formula known for making Williams' popularity soar along the likes of previous releases including The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1 and American Hustle The Movie.

It's Pimpin' Pimpin' is currently scheduled to drop on Tuesday, November 11
