Something good may come from the tragic death of Kanye West's mom, Dr. Donda West, after all. Law makers are trying to make sure what happened to her doesn't happen to other people who go under the knife.
Yolanda Anderson, niece of Donda and cousin of Kanye, along with California Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter, submitted a bill to the California legislature that would require a physical before any patient is approved for cosmetic surgery.
Donda's life was cut short on November 10 after a botched breast reduction and tummy tuck job.
According to Yolanda, the doctor, Jan Adams, who performed her aunt's procedures, did not give Donda a physical first.
The Beverly Hills doc was blasted after her death, in trouble with the Medical Board of California over several DUI cases and discovered to have had judgments against him in at least two malpractice cases, according to legal documents filed in California and obtained by CNN.
Donda's death has also spurred other bills currently in legislatures in Florida, Canada and elsewhere.
