In an ongoing struggle for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Barack Obama scored major wins in the post Super Tuesday contests.

According to CNN, Obama beat Hilary Clinton by significant margins in Washington state, Louisiana, Nebraska, Maine, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

After the recent showdown, Obama and Clinton are locked in a nail-biting contest for delegates. It is estimated that both are at the halfway mark of the 2,025 needed to receive the Democratic nomination at the party's convention this summer in Denver.

In Sunday's caucus, the Clinton campaign lost ground in Maine, a state where she has generally garnered wide support from lower income white voters.

Going into Louisiana, Obama beat Clinton among better-educated voters. Among the 64 percent of voters who attended college, Obama won by 16 percentage points (57 percent to 41 percent). Nearly half of the state's Democratic primary electorate is comprised of black voters. Obama beat out Clinton by a 64-point margin (82 percent to 18 percent) while Clinton had a stronghold on Louisiana's white voters by a 44-point margin (70 percent to 26 percent).

Clinton and Obama will compete on Tuesday for 15 pledged delegates in Washington, D.C.; 70 in Maryland; and 83 in Virginia.

In related news, Obama was a first-time winner at this year's Grammys for his best-selling audio book, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream, which beat out former President Bill Clinton for his work, Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World.
