After banging out hits to match the gritty scenes found in HBO's hit series "The Wire," the team of Darkroom Productions has signed a deal with Koch to release their first full length album.
The production team, who also garnered a following from producing joints for artists like R. Kelly and Chamillionaire, are best known for providing music for the wildly popular cable series, which premiered the first episode to its fifth and final season this past Sunday (Jan. 6).
The duo, consisting of Young Avon and Jamal Roberts, who hail from Baltimore and WashingtonD.C. respectively, recently landed a deal with Koch Records through their label Young American Recordings, to release their first LP Hamsterdam - The Album. The disc's title comes from the group's popular mixtape series, "Hamsterdam," which featured their all original production, that they began to release independently in 2005.
Darkroom Productions' Hamsterdam - The Album , hits shelves on April 1.
