Just a day after Remy Ma's eight-year sentence came down for shooting former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph, the unremorseful rapper and her teary victim called into New York radio show, Hot 97, to wage a war of words.

Barnes-Joseph, 24, said she still cries whenever she talks about the incident on the night of July 14, when Remy accused her of stealing $3,000 from her and subsequently shot her.

"I have these ugly scars. ... My stomach is crazy," she told radio host Miss Jones. [Listen here.]

Miss Jones, who is friends with Remy, said she thought that the sentence was excessive.

Barnes-Joseph explained her side of the story between sobs.

"She's got a kid," Barnes-Joseph said. "She'll come out in eight years and see her kid. I might not be able to have kids."

As previously reported, Remy (born Reminisce Smith) was found guilty of two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion and criminal possession of a weapon by a Manhattan Supreme Court jury.

Barnes-Joseph pointed out that Remy didn't even call for help or check on her after she was shot.

When Remy heard Barnes-Joseph's teary tale on the radio, the rapper called in from jail to fire back. Though the rapper had apologized in court for "not saving you from your physical and mental scars," Rem showed no such remorse on the air.

"I don't care if 12 million say 'guilty,'" the Bronx-bred rapper said. "The same way she was there, I was there."

"[She's] bending the truth," she continued. "She's stretching it to make it seem like she did nothing wrong. ... I don't got to shoot no girls."

According to Remy, she turned down a plea deal that would've carried a three-year sentence because she thought she'd be found innocent.

"You think I would jeopardize being away from my child for five to 25 years if I even had an inkling that I was guilty of something?" she asked Miss Jones.
