Former boxing great Evander Holyfield is currently facing economic problems as he recently foreclosed on his Georgia estate.
According to Atlanta television station WGCL, the former heavyweight champ's troubles began making headlines as a legal notice appeared in a local paper showcasing the boxer's Fayette County estate foreclosing. Set for auction on July 1st, the home's worth totals around $10 million.
In addition to his estate, more trouble is in store for the prized fighter as Toi Irvin, the mother of one of Holyfield's nine children, has gone public and announced that he has missed two child-support payments. Taking matters further, Irvin has filed a petition for contempt in Fayette County Superior Court.
According to her, Holyfield's reps said for her not to expect the payments for May and June, totaling $6,000.
As of now, he has declined to comment on missed child-support or the reasons behind his estate undergoing foreclosure.
Before losing his last fight on October 13th, 2007, Holyfield gained fame by defeating Mike Tyson in 1996 and making history by becoming one of the only three men including Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis recognized as a world Heavyweight champion three times.
